1、 Before dinner
(1) Don’t rush to open your napkin when you are seated. The first person to open the napkin should be the host, which announced the formal start of the dinner. Except for the buffet, you can unfold the napkin when you start eating the buffet.
(2) Please take care not to take other people’s napkins by mistake.
·In more formal banquets, napkins are usually folded and placed on a decorative plate in the middle of the table.
·If the napkin belongs to you on the right, it will be placed on the right side of your plate if it belongs to the guest.
·Sometimes the napkin is in the cup, and your napkin is in the cup on the right.
(3) Unfold the napkin in a gentle motion. Do not use too much force or shake the napkin. The extent of unfolding the napkin is determined by the size of the napkin.
·For larger napkins provided for more formal banquets, open them in half on the thighs.
·If it’s a small quick napkin, it can be fully spread over the thigh.
(4) If it is not a child or inconvenient person, it is best not to hang napkin cloth on the chest. Don’t fold your napkin to your button or belt. (but if you want to serve some snacks, if the host puts the napkin under his chin or around his neck, you can do the same with the host.)
